Glenfiddich x Anandini Himalaya Tea - A Unique Tea and Whiskey Pairing

Talks, meetings, research, tastings and more tastings resulted in an impeccable pairing of Tea and Whisky. Angad Singh Gandhi, the Brand Ambassador, Glenfiddich India met Tea Sommelier Anamika Singh, the Founder Director of Anandini Himalaya Tea to discuss the possibility of curating a unique sensorial experience for whisky and Tea enthusiasts. This led to an innovated walk on an unchartered path resulting in the creation of 4 delectable Tea cocktails with the world’s most awarded single malt whisky, Glenfiddich along with one of India’s finest Tea from Anandini Himalaya Tea infused by the Tea sommelier herself. The blend has splashes of marigold and cockscomb flowers along with saffron and exotic spices that have been blended into roasted green Tea from the estate in Dharamshala.



Angad Singh Gandhi, said, ‘Our experiments with tea reflect Glenfiddich’s long illustrious history of innovation and desire to push boundaries of convention. It has been a journey full of passion, carefully creating serves using the tea and Glenfiddich single malt. The hand plucked, roasted green Tea from Manjhee Valley, is specially manufactured in the month of September. It has hints of saffron with splashes of cockscomb flower that pairs well with smooth and mellow Glenfiddich ‘Our Original Twelve; to deliver an experience like never before.”


A specially curated toolkit with a smoke gun, decanter, tray, and ramequim along with the special blend will also be showcased for an exclusive experience that will be available across premium bars, restaurants and top 100 outlets in Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Mumbai, Karnataka, Hyderabad, and Goa.

Threefold Fashion

Ingredients

  • 60ml Glenfiddich 12yo

  • Special Blend Firdaus - Anandini Himalayan Tea

  • Sugar

  • Aromatic bitters

  • Cinnamon Stick

  • Applewood smoke (use a smoke gun or smoke top)

Preparation

Infuse Special Blend Firdaus- Anandini Himalayan tea to 60ml Glenfiddich. Fill the mixing jar with lots of ice and pour the infused whisky in. Add 10ml of tea-sugar cordial (Boil 1:1 ratio of Anandini Himalayan tea and sugar with water) and a few dashes of aromatic bitters. Add applewood/hazelwood smoke while continuously stirring the drink for 25-30 seconds. Finally, strain it over a big cube of ice in an old-fashioned glass and garnish with a small cinnamon stick.


 

Paradisiacal Highball

Ingredients

  • 60ml Glenfiddich 12yo

  • Special Blend Firdaus - Anandini Himalayan Tea

  • Lime Juic

  • Club Soda

  • Dehydrated fruit – Apple/Pear

Preparation

Add Infused Firdaus Anandini Himalayan tea to 60ml Glenfiddich in a highball glass over a big cube of ice. Add a few drops of lime juice. Serve with club soda and garnish with your preferred dehydrated fruit.
